DEAD afterlife PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
‘DEAD afterlife’ is a brilliant fresh take on zombie movies
Gloucester Hts, NJ – May 18th,
2012 – Michael Joy is an up and coming screenwriter who just might have
found a way to re-define the zombie movie.
The market has been oversaturated with zombie movies for the past
couple of years, but the genre has never seen anything like “DEAD
afterlife”. Here is the logline that a making industry professionals
turn their collective heads and take notice - “The
ghost of Donald Conlee finds himself attending his own funeral only to
be surprised that his zombie counterpart is eating all his guests. Now,
it’s up to Donald’s ghost to figure out how to get Donald’s undead body
back into his grave.”
Bill Oberst Jr. (Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies) said, “My
honest opinion on the logline is (and this is being honest) it is
f*cking brilliant. A ghost watching his undead body eat funeral guests?
Oh my God! Have ghosts and zombies have ever been mixed? It expands both
genres. It is a metaphor too.”
There are other comments and details about the “DEAD afterlife” logline here -
the eve of one of the most important medical breakthroughs in history,
Terranova Pharmaceutical representative Donald Conlee is found dead in
his New Jersey
home. His miracle drug “Awake” was supposed to be a dream come true in
the field of brain trauma. Instead, Donald Conlee finds himself dead
and awake during his own funeral after being given his own experimental
drug. In a supernatural turn of events,
it’s up to the ghost of Donald Conlee to put his own undead body back
into the ground, in order for his soul to gain entrance into Heaven.
Can the afterlife defeat the living dead?
There is an Indiegogo funding campaign that has been started to get this project off the ground. More details here -
Controversial Abortion Themed Horror Movie RED CHRISTMAS To Headline Kew Gardens Festival of CinemaFriday, August 11, 2017 at 9pm
RED CHRISTMAS Christmas day becomes a hellish homecoming in this unusual Australian horror/comedy gorefest that marks the big-screen return of genre icon Dee Wallace (THE HOWLING, E.T., HILLS HAVE EYES) among its sinister stocking of treats. An exploitation film with heart and considerable guts — of both the courage and corporeal variety — RED CHRISTMAS takes things to volume eleven on the horror charts while giddily yet sincerely addressing themes of eugenics, feminism, privacy, religion and law, all in the midst of an over-the-top rollercoaster of a slasher-film siege. As we said, this is an unusual one! Wallace is just amazing, giving her all with an intensely driven performance, and Gerard O’Dwyer, actor and ambassador for Don’t DISMyABILITY, shines brilliantly amidst the film’s numerous eccentric casting choices.
